| In the Hohe Tauern range, a glacier is called "Kees". The Arno Trail rises several times from the lush valleys to the icy glaciers at the heart of the National Park - similar to a botanical journey from Salzburg to the Arctic. Expect equally fast changes in the level of difficulty - from a simple walk along the valley bottom to a glacier crossing requiring alpine experience. In general, hikers must be sure-footed, have a head for heights and must plan their tours carefully. |
